This is a part-time position, 24 hours per week.
The Secretary is responsible for providing comprehensive and diverse administrative support to the Police Prosecution function.
Duties include, but are not limited to, typing legal documents; scheduling appointments and court appearances; creating and maintaining legal files, generating subpoenas; providing discovery material; assisting victims and witnesses through the criminal justice system; and providing secretarial support to Detectives as needed.
This position requires an Associates Degree or higher with a focus on Paralegal Studies, plus three years of progressively responsible experience working within the criminal justice system; or other combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
Justice of the Peace commission preferred; SPOTS certification required within 3 months of hire.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
